The school functions in a church building without proper desks and materials. The school asks for a small participation from parents from which they pay teachers and purchase materials, but the parents do not always respond. During the 2012-2013 school year, this participation was practically impossible to find because President Martelly had announced that school would be free, so parents understood that that was the case whereas in reality, the government has provided absolutely no support for this school.
The school functions with 8 different levels, beginning with pre-school up to kindergarten. The majority of the 199 students in the school do not have uniforms (required), books, or notebooks. Many kids stop coming to school when their shoes wear out and they cannot afford new ones. Nonetheless, thanks to God, 2014 marks 36 years that the school has been functioning!
Below is a proposed, ideal monthly budget. This is the fundraising goal, but the school will of course be blessed with any amount of support, whether monthly, one time, etc!
